How to reach us
Email is the only support channel today. There is no in-app chat, phone line or contact form.
- Email: support@kitchensguardian.com
- Response time: we aim to reply within 3 business days. Complex issues can take longer; we will tell you if so.
- Languages: English.
- We answer by email. We are a small team, so we do not offer live support.
- Where we operate: the United States and Canada.
What to include
To help us resolve things in one round, include:
- the email address on your KitchensGuardian account
- your phone and operating system (for example iPhone 15, iOS 18, or Pixel 8, Android 15)
- the app version (on iPhone: Settings, then General, then iPhone Storage, then the app; on Android: Settings, then Apps, then the app)
- what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead
- a screenshot if it helps. Do not send photos of receipts that show payment card numbers or loyalty numbers unless you have covered them.
We will never ask for your password. If an email claiming to be from us asks for it, do not reply.
Privacy requests
You can exercise your privacy rights by email. Write from the email address on your account and put “Privacy request” in the subject, then tell us which of these you want:
- Access: a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
- Export: a machine-readable copy of your data (JSON). There is no in-app export yet. We prepare it by hand and send it within 30 days.
- Correction: fix inaccurate data. You can change your name and profile photo in the app yourself.
- Deletion: delete your account (see our Account Deletion page; in-app deletion is faster).
- Google app analytics: deleting your account does not automatically request deletion of analytics already received by Google. The app currently offers no individual server-deletion control. You can contact us about an analytics privacy request. We assess requests based on our ability to identify the relevant analytics records and the deletion tools Google makes available. Our analytics events do not include your KitchensGuardian account identifier or email, so we cannot promise to match those records by email alone or erase them automatically. See sections 10–12 of our Privacy Policy.
- Objection: object to our use of your data for improving the service, including the production of anonymous training data, or ask us to pause a specific use while we review it.
- Withdraw consent: where we rely on your consent. For ad measurement you can do this yourself in the app (Privacy Policy, section 3.11). Google app analytics has a separate choice: Ad settings during setup, or Profile, then System, then Google app analytics (Privacy Policy, section 3.12). Turning it off stops future collection and resets local analytics data; it does not erase information Google already received.
- Do not sell or share (California): we do not sell personal information. Ad measurement runs only if you allow it. You can turn it off in the app (Ad settings during setup, or Profile, then System, then Ad measurement) or, on iPhone, in Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Tracking. See section 3.11 of our Privacy Policy.
We reply to the account email to verify it is you. Timelines: within 30 days under PIPEDA and Quebec law (extendable where the law allows, and we will tell you why), within 45 days under the CCPA. There is no charge for a reasonable number of requests.
If you are not satisfied with our answer: in Canada you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca), and in Quebec to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca).

Security reports
If you find a security vulnerability in the app or our servers:
- Email support@kitchensguardian.com with “Security” in the subject.
- Tell us what you found, how to reproduce it, and how to reach you.
- Please give us reasonable time to fix it before publishing, and do not access, change or delete data that is not yours while testing.
- We aim to acknowledge your report within 5 business days and to keep you informed. We do not run a paid bug bounty, but we are glad to credit researchers who report responsibly, with their permission.
If you believe your own account has been accessed by someone else, change your password in the app right away (or through the password-reset flow), then email us so we can revoke active sessions.
Billing, refunds and subscriptions
Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play, so refunds are handled by the store:
- Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com
- Google Play: play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory
We cannot refund store purchases directly. If a paid feature did not unlock after purchase, email us with the store order number (not the full receipt or card details) and we will investigate and support your refund request with the store. See our Subscription Terms for cancellation steps. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it in the store first.
Reporting a problem with a scan
If the app misread a receipt or a fridge photo:
- Correct the items in the review screen before saving. Your corrections help the app read your receipts better next time.
- If a particular store’s receipts are read badly, email us the store name and country. You can attach a photo of the receipt with any payment card digits, loyalty numbers and personal details covered.
- Prices are shown in the currency set on your account, not the currency printed on the receipt. If a receipt is from another country, check the currency setting before you rely on the totals.
Remember: expiry dates, amounts and prices from the app are estimates. Always check food yourself before eating it.
Reporting another user or kitchen
If someone in a shared kitchen is abusive, or you were added to a kitchen you do not recognise, leave the kitchen in the app and email us with the kitchen name and what happened. Hosts can remove members at any time; removing a member also replaces the kitchen’s invitation code.

Formal legal notices go to support@kitchensguardian.com with “Legal” in the subject, and by post to the address below.

We will remove or disable material in response to a valid notice, and you can send a counter-notice if you believe your material was removed in error.
